Palmetto Subs: Discover Exceptional Sandwiches in Florence, SC

Being a Southwest Philly boy born and raised, I know hoagies — and down here they call them subs or submarine sandwiches, just like up in the Northeast (Massachusetts, Maine, Connecticut, etc.). I have to say, their sandwiches are put together really well and they offer plenty of options so you can make it your own, just like back home. The only thing that keeps it from being a true Philly hoagie is the type of bread and the American white cheese they use — that’s the signature difference in the recipe. But overall, they make a pretty good sandwich, and that’s why I gave them 5 stars.

I love the atmosphere. The worker was polite nice and courtesy. He help me to make my selections. And he served with a smile and said thank you!!! You don’t get that anymore

I took a trip back home, so I had to visit one of my old favorite food spots I loved to eat at when I was a teenager. It's still the same authentic, delicious, tasty cuts of deli meats. Best salads in town, although 301 drive-in is a "rival" when it comes to salads. There is no place like home .

They should charge for smells when you walk in the door. By far one of the best places to get a freshly shaved deli sub in Florence. #19 is the one to order, has all the goods.

Palmetto Subs Restaurant is on Irby Street in Florence, South Carolina. If you're from where I'm from you'll understand. If you ain't like us then you won't. Ate breakfast at o'dark thirty. And by this afternoon, I'd say 'bout 2:00PM, you had better believe and know, I was feeling right hungry. Good and hungry. Yes ma'am! Yup, headache hungry. Somebody might know what I mean. And 'cause I knowed it would be a while 'fo I made it to da house dat thumping near my temples wasn't going nowhere soon 'lesson I do somptin quick fast and in a hurry. I wanted my money's worth from some place kinda clean if I'm eaten out. See? Well, I got satisfied with the half sub combo meal - all the way - light on the hot peppers. Yup! Show 'nuf. My belly tight now! Didn't want feel like I was a cheeeap skate 'cause I was a one dees here type a hard working youngsters decades ago too; so, I did leave a tip. Yup, I could relate to the struggle I saw in their young faces, yall. My first time at this location was today, as I recall. If you leave 'em a dollar or two tip, this elder thinks you did the right thing by them kids too. A dollar don't never seem to go far 'nuff. Huh? Note: My apologies for my grammar and spelling, Mrs. Jacobs (RIP), my sixth grade English instructor in the 1970's.

Absolutely love the quality of the ingredients and the attention to my order the workers take. They are friendly and if I call in my order, the drive thru window is very convenient. Love that I can add on extra pickles for a small fee, and even upgrade to a combo for added value. If feeling particularly hungry I can double theeat for just a few dollars extra. Great sandwich shop.
